Academy of Culinary Design

The Academy of Culinary Design shall foster learning as a life-long process. We believe hard work, regular participation and positive attitudes result in maximum academic achievement.  Academy experiences shall encourage respect for others, promote good citizenship and impart in the values necessary to be successful in the culinary field.

Academy of Web and Digital Media

Multimedia Academy

The Academy of Web and Digital Media provides students with the opportunity to combine concepts of print and web media in the creation of brochures and other printed materials and web sites to display the materials. Students will take Web Design and/or Digital Design courses integrated with academic courses for a hands-on curriculum preparing students for careers such as visual arts, web development, and interactive design.

Academy of Allied Health

The Allied Health Academy provides students with the opportunity to learn about and get hands on experience with Allied Health Professions.  Allied Health professionals are involved with the delivery of health or related services pertaining to the identification, evaluation and prevention of diseases and disorders; dietary and nutrition services; rehabilitation and health systems management, among others. Some of those Allied Health Professions include certified athletic trainers, dental hygienists, diagnostic medical sonographers, dietitians, medical technologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, radiographers, respiratory therapists, and speech language pathologists. The students will take a progression of courses in the academy.  The first year course is Medical Skills and Services which covers CPR/AED & First Aid Certification, introduction to health care careers, and history of healthcare. The second year course is Health Science Anatomy and Physiology which covers all body systems.  The third year course is Allied Health 3 which covers a more in-depth look into the Allied Health Professions.  The fourth level course gives students hands on experience with healthcare professionals as well as a chance to earn industry certifications to use in real world applications.

Acceptance into the Academy:  Students are required to apply to the Seabreeze High School Allied Health Academy during their 8th grade year. Students are selected based on their GPA, extracurricular activities and letters of recommendation. 

1st Year:  Students are required to take and successfully complete the Medical Skills and Services course.  During this course students will create a portfolio which will count as their end of course exam in which they must pass to move on to the next level.  Part of this end of course exam is to complete 10 hours of observation under a medical professional and write three journal entries on 3 unique experiences they had during their 10 hours. 

2nd Year:  Students are required to take and successfully complete the Health Science Anatomy and Physiology course. The prerequisite for this class is Medical Skills and Services.  During this course students will create a portfolio which will count as their end of course exam in which they must pass to move on to the next level.  Part of this end of course exam is to complete 25 hours of observation under a medical professional and write five journal entries on 5 unique experiences they had during their 25 hours.  

3rd Year: Students are required to take and successfully complete the Allied Health Foundations course. The prerequisite for this class is Medical Skills and Services and Health Science Anatomy and Physiology.  During this course students will create a portfolio which will count as their end of course exam in which they must pass to move on to the next level.  Part of this end of course exam is to complete 50 hours of observation under a medical professional and write seven journal entries on 7 unique experiences they had during their 50 hours.

4th Year: Students are required to take and successfully complete the Allied Health Foundations course. The prerequisite for this class is Medical Skills and Services, Health Science Anatomy and Physiology and Allied Health Foundations.  During this course students will create a portfolio which will count as their end of course exam in which they must pass to move on to the next level.  Part of this end of course exam is to complete 75 hours of observation under a medical professional. During the 4th semester the students are responsible for creating a presentation that they will give in front of the entire academy.
