My name is Steafon Jenkins and I am a product of the Volusia County School System.  Graduating from Mainland High School in June of 1979 I decided to attend college locally.

I received my Bachelor Degree from Bethune Cookman College which is now Bethune Cookman University In 1996.  My graduate studies were completed in 2007 from Nova Southeastern University.

My career in education has been one that has me well versed in every level of learning.  My first experience being an educator was at Turie T. Smalls Elementary from 1996- 1998 under the leadership of Betty Powers. There I was assigned to a third grade classroom.

1998 – 2001 I transferred to New Smyrna Beach Middle School.  While there I taught a self- contained classroom of ESE students for three consecutive years. The school was under the leadership of Linda Reader.

Campbell Middle School was my next experience for the next three years 2001- 2004.  Stanley Whitted was the principal for my first two years with my final year there being led by Mrs. Vicky Pressley. VE mild is what I taught during my three year tenure at Campbell Middle School.

From 2004-2006 I was assigned to Atlantic High and again taught VE mild students Algebra 1.  During these years I started my graduate studies and started my administrative track and was removed from the class room.  I was a Teacher on Assignment my final year at Atlantic and was assigned as administrator of the Multi VE department. Ronald Pagano was the principal during my years at Atlantic.

Stinamay Lagrotta

Beginning my career as a media specialist at the elementary level in 1994, I participated in a state-wide grant for technology and many reading initiatives that put books in the hands of students. Moving on to high school in 1997, I spent the next 15 years collaborating with faculty and administrators to create active student-centered learning environments that supported literacy and technology. As a teacher on assignment at the district level, I managed a multi-media team that developed and organized digital staff development content and supported media specialists in the county.  Upon the move to Seabreeze High School, I served as a media specialist for the school, teacher on assignment, and now an assistant principal responsible primarily for testing and attendance.
